“Now that I
am a Christian, I have moods in which the entire thing looks very improbable;
but when I was an atheist, I had moods in which Christianity looked terribly
probable.” –C.S. Lewis
Being sound
Christians does not mean that we won’t have questions. On the contrary, we may have a lot of
questions that don’t come with easy answers.
A dose of doubt is entirely healthy in our faith journeys, because it is
the testing of our beliefs against our experiences that makes them deeper and
more meaningful. While we may never fully understand God, when we look to the heavens with a holy curiosity, God looks down on us and smiles.
These trials will show that your faith is
genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—through your faith
is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much
praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the
whole world (1 Peter
1:7, NLT).
