“Earth has no
sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.” -Thomas Moore
One day Peter and John approached a lame beggar at the
temple gate. The lame man asked Peter
and John for money while still hanging his head and looking down, but Peter told
him, “Look at us.” Peter explained that
they didn't have money, but they did have something invaluable. He declared in the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, walk” (Acts 3:6). The man got
up and walked. Likewise, life happens to
us all, and consequently we sometimes are left with lingering inhibitions,
emotional handicaps, or spiritual hang-ups.
We need healing from God, Jehovah Rophi, the only One Who can. We mustn't hang our heads any longer; the
first step in allowing God to heal us is looking up.
“But you, O LORD,
are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head (Psalm 3:3,
ESV).
