“Strong people are made by opposition
like kites that go up against the wind.” -Frank Harris
The people of Judah were in the midst
of rebuilding God’s Temple under command of the Persian King, Cyrus. However, the new King, Artaxerxes, didn’t know about the promise Cyrus made to
Judah. Enemies of Judah vehemently
opposed them rebuilding God’s Temple for fear Judah would rebel, and Artaxerxes
agreed. The rebuilding was put to
a halt throughout this king’s reign.
However, his successor, King Darius, decreed that Judah continue rebuilding God’s
temple. Likewise, very often if
you want to do something great for God you will meet opposition. Even if some oppose you, and others
neglect to keep their promises, trust that God will always keeps His
promises.
If God
is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31, NIV)
