“Wherever you are - be all there.” –Jim Elliot
Last summer my buddy and I went on a road trip to the west
coast. Initially we thought we’d fly to the
destinations that we knew we wanted to see: The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone
National Park, and Redwood Forest. I’m
so glad we drove instead, because the places we saw along the way were absolutely
magnificent. We experienced a scenic
sunset on top of a mountain in New Mexico, golden prairies and windmills in
Idaho, and a lighthouse on top of a cape in Oregon. In life sometimes we can be so futuristically
focused on getting to the places we want to be at that we miss out on enjoying our
journeys along the way. Let’s decide not
to get ahead of ourselves, because there is beauty to be seen all around us; we
just have to be looking for it.
Make the most of every opportunity… (Ephesians 5:16, NLT).
