Paul wrote the church in Philippi and admonished them by saying, “Do everything without complaining.”  Paul knew that when the Philippians complained that things weren’t going the way they’d like, they only annoyed the people around them and further darkened their own moods.  Moreover, guests visiting the church of Philippi would be less likely to befriend anyone and join the church if complaining-church-folks repelled them.  The lesson for Philippi is true for us: people are often attracted to positive people, and repelled by negative people.  If we want more friends, and more people to join our churches, then we must resolve to stop complaining about negative things and praise God for positive things.
