“You ain’t seen nothing yet.” -Randy Bachman
Jesus, nowhere near in proximity to Nathaniel, and thus
shouldn’t have been physically able to see him, saw Nathaniel under a tree
before the disciples ever met and brought Nathaniel to Him. Nathaniel, astonished that Jesus had
seen him, exclaimed, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God—the King of Israel.” Jesus responded, “Do you believe this
just because I saw you? You will
see even greater things than this.”
The lesson for Nathaniel is true for us: we have not even touched the
surface of all God wants to do in and through our lives. In other words, we ain’t seen nothing yet. Whenever we
begin to know Jesus as an all-powerful God (and nothing less), then we will see
Him perform the miraculous.
Ah, Lord GOD! Is is you who have made the heavens and
the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard
for you (Jeremiah 32:17, ESV).
