“Managers do things right, but leaders do right things.” –Stephen

Gideon was the fifth Judge of Israel and a valiant military
leader who had led Israel to victory over their enemies. When the people of Israel invited
Gideon to be their king, he declined their initiation” (Judges 8:23). Let’s pause here and ask ourselves an
honest question: What man in their right mind would turn down an opportunity to
be king? Gideon knew that while
this would be a good opportunity for someone, he knew that this wasn’t the
right opportunity for him.
Likewise, every opportunity that comes our way isn’t necessarily the
right opportunity for us. There’s
a lot of people that may want you to live out their script for your life, but
Like Gideon you must stay true to you and to God so that you do only what
you’re supposed to do. When you do you will live a more peaceful, fulfilled and victorious life.
So whoever knows
the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin (James 4:17,
NLT).
