“Whatever I will become will be what
God has chosen for me.” -Elvis Presley
With God it doesn’t matter which
side of the tracks you’re raised on, how much money you make a year, or who
your friends are. God doesn’t care
what you look like, how old or young you are, or how good or bad your resume
is. Throughout history God has
chosen ordinary people to do the extraordinary. God chose David, a shepherd boy to be king. God chose Elisha while he was plowing
in a field to be a prophet. Jesus
chose a group of fishermen, a tax collectors, and societal nobodies to be
disciples that would change the world.
It didn’t matter what others thought of them, because God had chosen
them. If God did it then for them
then He can do it now for you.
Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women
that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these “nobodies” to
expose the hollow pretensions of the “somebodies”? (1 Corinthians 1:28-29, MSG)
What a sigh of relief we can breathe when we figure out that God chooses the team, we just swing the bats. As always, good read!
