“The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of
everyday thinking.” -Albert Einstein
Most people when asked, "How
are you?" or “What’s up?” they instinctively and without much thought
respond "good." Instead,
I've gotten in the habit of asking people, "Anything positive happen to
you lately?" This gives a
whole new meaning to “What’s UP?” This forces them to think about why
they’re good by counting their blessings.
Likewise you can choose to think about the bad or think about the
good. This isn’t to dismiss the
bad as though it doesn’t exist, rather you are intentionally being thankful for
the good. So what’s UP?!
Friends, I’d say
you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble,
reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the
beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse (Philippians
4:8, MSG).
