“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every
opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” -Winston
Churchill
Optimism is more than a ‘glass half full’
approach, it is even more than finding the ‘silver lining’—a biblical worldview
of optimism is a faith that God is still sovereign in spite of how difficult
your circumstance may be. Through
every difficulty there is an opportunity to exercise your faith. You may not
always have clarity, but you will trust God. You probably will not always be
happy, but your hope is in Him. You
may not always enjoy the pleasures of prosperity, but there is nothing that can
steal your peace that God will provide.
And we know that
in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been
called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28, NIV).
