"Work becomes worship when you dedicate it
to God and perform it with an awareness of his presence." -Rick Warren
Perhaps you believe that your job does little to
impact on the world. Maybe you’re
a student who does not think that your schoolwork is significant. Or you’re a mother who works tirelessly
to raise thankless kids. Many Christians
understand God as a distant abstract force in the sky, working as if He’s got
many more important things to do than watch you. This isn’t the God of the Bible. Christ is right beside you when you work! If most understood God this way, they
would fall on their face to praise Him, and then they would work with more pep
in their step! Work would become worship
and very soon your coworkers would know, “There’s something different about
her.”
Whatever
you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men
(Colossians 3:23, ESV).
