“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is
the journey that matters, in the end.” ― Ernest Hemingway
The
other day someone gave me a cinnamon roll from Cinnabon. If I have a vice in life then it is
cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon! I
inhaled it faster than you can say the word “sugar rush.” Like any delicacy you do not want to
inhale a Cinnabon or else you barely taste it; instead you eat it slowly to
savor every bight. Likewise in
life we can become so hyper focused on a destination—graduation, promotion, marriage,
retirement—that we neglect to enjoy the journey along the way. This life is your single Cinnabon and it
will taste sweeter if you learn to savor every bite.
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above… (James
1:17, NASB).
