“We shall draw from the heart of
suffering itself the means of inspiration and survival.” -Winston Churchill
Often when people go through tragedy they want to run away
from God when what they need to be doing is running to God. Instead of pretending we’re strong
enough to get over tragedy by ourselves, let’s allow God to help us get through
tragedy. It’s healthy to grieve
when that’s truly how you feel.
Know that ultimately God will use today’s tragedy as tomorrow’s
testimony. Your testimony hence
becomes a tool to teach others how to also overcome tragedy. Through suffering you become stronger
and others will to.
And after you
have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his
eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and
establish you (1 Peter 5:10, ESV).
