“I take rejection as someone blowing a bugle in my ear to
wake me up and get going, rather than retreat.” -Sylvester Stallone
The word “no” is the hardest word to hear in the
English dictionary. After spending
hours sending out cover letters and resumes, you wait for a call that doesn’t
come. You give your heart away,
but fickly she says, “thanks but no thanks.” Like most people you may not take “no” easily, but what will
set you apart from most people is what you do afterward. Rejection either causes you to retreat
to self-pity; or you use rejection as a stepping-stone to keep running. You may be told no a hundred times, but
all it really takes is one “yes.”
The
righteous keep moving forward (Job 17:9, NLT).
