“I play to win, whether during practice
or a real game. And I will not let anything get in the way of me and my
competitive enthusiasm to win.” –Michael Jordan
Athletes cannot perform well under pressure unless they
first put in the necessary practice.
Athletes Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter actually prosper under pressure
because there isn’t anyone who prepares better than they do. As Christians we must prepare ourselves
every day in prayer, so that we are ready for the pressure we will face in the
day. If you prepare well then when
someone smarts off to you then you brush it off because it isn’t that big of a
deal. When you are tempted by
sexual sin, you resist. When you
could be greedy, instead you give. Practice because you are an athlete of the Most High
God.
ALSO [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought
always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up)… (Luke 18:1, AMP).
