“Don't talk about what you have done
or what you are going to do.” -Thomas
Jefferson
After a long day of work and
classes, I contemplated whether to go the gym. “I’m tired,” I thought. “I can just go tomorrow.” Something in me knew this wasn’t right. I went anyway, and what I learned is
that after I started working out, I wasn’t tired anymore! On the contrary, I was
invigorated. I was doing something
I enjoyed—it wasn’t an errand, rather it was exciting. Now I’m stronger. Sometimes if we’re not careful, we look
at prayer as a chore on a ‘to-do’ list rather than a conversation with our Best
Friend. A right relationship with
God refreshes and renews you! The
Holy Spirit saturates you with strength and you walk around smiling the rest of
the day. Today find some alone time
with your Best Friend to chat and catch up.
But
God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer
(Psalm 66:19, NLT).
