“O Lord, make me beautiful within.” -John Wooden (12-time NCAA champion
coach)
“Beauty” to many seems to have a feminine undertone, so it’s
usually not a word many men attribute to themselves. Men predominately would rather be accomplished than
beautiful. What if being a “real
man”—a good man, requires men becoming beautiful within? On one hand they’re sensitive, whether in loving their wife,
or to the leadings of the Holy Spirit; and on the other hand they’re strong, enough so to admit when they’re
wrong, and to stand tall against sin.
The
steps of a good man are ordered
by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. -Psalm 37:23 (KJ)
