“Expectancy is the atmosphere for
miracles.” -Edwin Louis Cole
When Jesus went back to His
hometown of Nazareth, He could do no more miracles for the Nazarenes because of
their unbelief (Matt. 13:58).
You read that right; the Son of God could perform no miracles, not
because He wasn’t willing, but because the people expected nothing from Him. Jesus gave them exactly what they
expected: nothing. Likewise, our
expectation of God, for better or for worse, is very often what we experience. Sometimes people miss out on God’s
miracles because of their small expectations. Your faith activates God’s power. If you believe that there's no limit to what God can do, then in His own way He will come through for you.
Now to
him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think,
according to the power at work within us (Eph. 3:20, ESV).
