“I don't conquer, I submit.” -Giacomo Casanova
Abraham waited one hundred years
for his son, Isaac; and the boy was his pride and joy, a dream child. One day God tested Abraham, telling him
to sacrifice Isaac on an altar on the mountains in Moriah. Abraham traveled with Isaac to the
mountaintop, tied up Isaac to sacrifice him, and then an angel stopped
him. God then provided a ram in
the thicket to substitute for Isaac.
Sometimes God’s tests can seem like a full on assault on our hopes and
dreams. It’s not God’s goal
to take anything away from us, but rather He’s checking the posture of our hearts. Are you totally submitted to God? Submit your heart to God to find
there’s no freer or more peaceful way to live.
…in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths
straight (Proverbs 3:6, NLT).
