“Take care of your body. It's the only
place you have to live.” -Jim Rohn
Recently an ailing shoulder inhabilitated me so that I
couldn’t workout at the gym effectively.
My shoulder wasn’t just a shoulder problem, it also affected whether my
chest, back, biceps, and triceps could perform the workout. Never before did I realize more vividly
that the body is connected!
Similarly the church (and the people in it) is the Body of Christ (1
Cor. 12-26); we are a team. I’ve
learned from working in a church that when one person on the team hurts then it
can affect how the rest of the team performs. Wherever you are a part of a team—school, church, or work—decide
that when someone is hurting, you will be one to encourage the person so that
they heal. You don’t just help the
person; you help the entire team.
Therefore
encourage one another and build each other up... (1
Thessalonians 5:11, NIV).
