“Youth is happy because it has the
ability to see beauty. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows
old.” -Franz Kafka
Recently I bought an iPhone, and I was excited about it the
moment I bought it. Over time as
I’ve learned about its various functions—iCal that allows Gmail to sync the
calendars on my iPhone and Mac, and Evernote that keeps my notes on both—my appreciation
for the iPhone has deepened. It’s
a progressive revelation of what the iPhone is and why I need it even more. Likewise we are saved the moments we
give our lives to Christ. When God
saved me I loved Him with all that I am, the best way that I knew how. Over time this love only grows as I
gain a progressive revelation of Who Christ is and what He can do in and through
my life. I need Christ now more
than ever, and as I learn to depend on Him, He becomes more beautiful every day.
No matter where you are in your
relationship with Christ, resolve today that you will learn to depend on Him even
more; just see how because of this your love for Him deepens.
Love the Lord
your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength (Deuteronomy
6:5, NIV).
