“You have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up
to be. Whoever that man is, good character or bad, it's going to change the
world.” -Jonathan Kent, Man of Steel
If you liked the movie 300,
then you’ll like how King David chose to fight. He selected 30 Mighty Men, one of which who killed 800
Philistines with just a spear (2 Sam. 23). It wasn’t that Israel was underpopulated, but rather David
knew he could fight smarter with only the fiercest. In our society today God also needs fierce men. Men who live pure and love people. Men who are honest. Men who always stand up for what’s
right. This isn’t to say that God can’t
use you if you’ve made mistakes, but rather that God will take
the fiercest the furthest.
My
beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the
Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain (1
Cor. 15:58, ESV).
