“Make today your
masterpiece.” -John Wooden
Whether be a painter, writer,
musician, or actor then you understand that any artist wants to produce art
that will inspire others, perhaps even help them. Eventually it could earn them recognition, but most of the
time that’s not why they do it.
Hopes of achieving recognition wouldn’t be enough to drive them for
excellence day in and day out; most artists produce art simply for the love of
producing art. As Christians, recognition
may or may not come, but likewise we shouldn’t live the life we do for hopes of
achieving it. Otherwise we may be
disappointed. Instead let’s
collectively decide that we will live for God simply and completely because we
love God. Thus everything we do
throughout our day today and every day corresponds with this.
Let us not love in word or talk
but in deed and in truth (1 John
3:18, ESV).
