“I pray to be a good servant to God, a
father, a husband, a son, a friend, a brother, an uncle, a good neighbor, a
good leader to those who look up to me, a good follower to those who are
serving God and doing the right thing.” -Mark Wahlberg
Think of all the roles you play throughout your
day: student, friend, brother, son, employee, father, husband, uncle, and
neighbor. Each of these roles
presents a new ministry opportunity.
Like Paul we must strive to become “all things to all people” (1
Corinthians 9:22). This entails
that to one person you may need to be a good listener, while another a selfless
servant, and another a sacrificial giver. Be all you can be to glorify our
Heavenly Father.
Keep
open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt
people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven
(Matthew 5:16, NIV).
