“One's destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at
things.” -Henry Miller
Life might have you feeling like you’re a sailboat
desperately trying to go your own way. Some even call their will ‘God’s will’, while they force
their selves against the violent current.
Others wait for a sign, perhaps expecting an audible voice booming from
the heavens that indicates where they need to go, only to become discouraged
when God is silent. Often times
God chooses to operate in the form of a whisper, maybe it’s subtle intuition or
a friend’s advice that nudges you in the right direction. God’s will usually is not forced;
rather it’s a gentle wind blowing on your sails that puts you in the
right place at the right time. God’s
plan is always greater than our plans, so listen for His voice and remain open
to His will.
Be
still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10, NIV).
