“When God is speaking, one word is more than enough. He is more interested in our full
obedience than our complete understanding.” -Steven Furtick
One day Jesus went to visit two
sisters Martha and Mary. Martha was
scurrying about steam cleaning the carpet, washing the dishes and polishing the
silverware. Martha’s method of
pleasing God was by her works.
Mary simply sat at the feet of Jesus and listened to His Word. Just guess whom God was more pleased
with? All the things Martha did
needed to be done eventually, but Mary recognized that when God was speaking she needed to stop everything to listen now. In the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, remember that
the true meaning of Christmas is Jesus. Do not miss your opportunity for a God encounter. Each day set time aside to stop everything and sit at the feet of Jesus.
I
listen carefully to what God the LORD is saying, for he speaks peace to his
faithful people (Psalm 85:8, NLT).
