“Indeed, the acknowledgement of God is
not synonymous with religion.” -Roy Moore
Facebook is a public forum for people to ‘Post’ everything from
what they eat, whom they see, and how they feel. A Facebook ‘Like’ acknowledges not only that you’ve seen what
another has expressed, but also that you affirm them. If you announced to your Facebook Friends: “I’m ENGAGED!!!” or
“It’s a BOY!!”—what if nobody clicked ‘Like’? You’d assume that nobody cared about you. However probably more people would ‘Like’
this ‘Post’ than any other. I
don’t know about you, but I like ‘Likes’.
Facebook is public, but real life is private. We don’t often enjoy any affirmation when we do what’s right. Maybe you are a parent who has not quit
loving your child even when it’s been the hardest, but nobody clicked
‘Like’. Perhaps you are a single
person who has stayed pure for marriage, but nobody clicked ‘Like’. Sometimes doing the right thing
is a lonely road, and not a single person will acknowledge you or affirm you. Stay encouraged because Jesus clicked
‘Like’. Continue doing what’s
right, because your reward will come from the Lord.
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has
stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has
promised to those who love him (James 1:12, ESV).
