“All our words from loose using have lost their edge.” -Ernest
Hemingway
Too hastily people utter “Jesus” when they stub their big
tow, or worse when they are angry with their spouse. Words matter.
In the Old Testament the Jews didn’t so much as call God by name, rather
they referred to Him as “LORD.” By
God’s grace we now can call on the name “Jesus” anytime, anywhere and for any
occasion. My prayer is that we
treat the name above all names with the utmost reverence.
Wherefore God
also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That
at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in
earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians
9:11, KJV).
