“The
bicycle is a curious vehicle. Its passenger is its engine.” ~John Howard
My dad preaches that
there comes a time when a father must teach his child how to ride a bike. A father knows the child will
inevitably fall, and his hope is that every time the child gets up and travels
further before another fall.
Likewise our Heavenly Father knows his children will sin, and his hope
is that each time we pick ourselves up to travel further before another fall. No matter how far we get from God or how
many times we fall, absolutely nothing can separate a child from the Father’s
love.
I'm absolutely
convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or
tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get
between us and God's love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced
us (Romans
8:39, The Message).
