“Whatever is begun in anger ends in shame.” -Benjamin
Franklin
My mother has a garden in her backyard that for months she
has faithfully grown. Constantly
she grooms the garden, pulling away weeds. Anger is a weed in your spiritual garden, that if you harbor
it in your heart then it will hinder the growth of life-giving plants: like
love, joy, and peace. Eventually
weeds multiply to overtake a garden.
The other day my mother proudly provided me a fresh cucumber; her
harvest blessed others. Each day
groom your spiritual garden in prayer and God’s Word. Eventually your garden will not only bless you, but also
bless others.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness
and self-control… (Galatians 5:22-23, NIV).
