“We do not determine a man’s greatness by his talent or
worth, as the world does, but rather what it takes to discourage him.” –Jerry Falwell
Abraham Lincoln failed,
often. He botched a business in
1831. He lost bids for State Legislature and Congress. He eventually won, but was defeated in
his reelection bids. Both his
mother and wife died early in his life.
He ran for Vice President and got fewer than 100 votes. Finally he ran and won the Presidency
in 1860. He had ups and more
downs. He never quit.
May you be strengthened with
all power, according to [God’s] glorious might, for all endurance and patience
with joy… (Colossians 1:11, ESV).
