“We herd sheep, we drive cattle, we lead people. Lead me, follow me,
or get out of my way.” –George S. Patton
Sheep go wherever the crowd goes, but when they hear the voice of their
shepherd: they get back in line and follow him. The Bible refers to people as sheep in need of a Shepherd
(Jesus). A Christian’s job is
simply to follow Jesus: in this process we find sheep to our front that lead us
closer to God, as well as sheep behind us that we help follow Him. If we stray or become stagnant, the
best thing we can do is stop to hear God’s voice.
My
sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John
10:27, KJV).
