“A man's worth has its season, like fruit.” -Francois de
La Rochefoucauld
So which will it be? As a believer you choose each day
either to live unto your sinful nature or in the Holy Spirit.
A bad tree will bear no fruit, and when you live unto your
sinful nature, you produce evil results:
“Sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure,
idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy,
outburst of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is
wrong except those in your little group, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and
other kinds of sin” (Galatians 5:20-21, NLT). There are always consequences to sin.
A good tree
bears the fruit of the Spirit: “Love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness” (Galatians 5:22-23, NLT). God rewards obedience, and remember He
is the only One who helps you bear these fruits.
Today I pray you simply seek Jesus: he is the source of righteousness
and life free in the Holy Spirit. This
is your season.
