“Even if
you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.” -Will Rogers
I
tactfully placed my feet to avoid stumbling over sharp rocks and jagged roots,
I leaped over a running stream to evade being swept away, and I plowed through thick
mud and cold wind that slowed my stride.
The Mountain 5K was on the right track, but then a competitor in front
of me slipped and fell, and I piled over him. In life sometimes the people around you may cause you to
fall, and you’re then left with two choices: you can sit there and fret or get
up and finish. I got up and
sprinted to the finish line, passing those who slowed after capitalizing on my
fall.
…and let us run with
perseverance the race marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1, NIV).
